1. India to fence 1643-kilometre Indo-Myanmar border : A significant milestone has already been reached with the successful fencing of a 10-kilometre section in Moreh, Manipur, Home Minister Amit Shah said.
2. US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey R Pyatt on Monday lauded Indian Navy action against the Houthis and said it shows India’s capacity as a net security provider in the wider region benefits the United States.
3. PM Modi is set to address the prestigious World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai on February 14. This marks his second invitation to the WGS, with the first being in 2018. The WGS, an annual global gathering held in Dubai since 2013, convenes world leaders, policymakers, and experts to tackle pressing global issues.
4. Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Hasan Mahmud will be on a three day visit to India from today.
5. The International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation is observed on 6 February. Female genital mutilation (FGM) involves altering or injuring female genitalia for non-medical reasons. Over 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone this painful and shocking procedure that causes short-term health issues like infections and difficulty urinating, and long-term sexual, reproductive, and mental health problems.
6. India on Tuesday advised its citizens not to travel to Myanmar’s Rakhine state in view of deteriorating security situation. In an advisory, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) asked Indian citizens who are already in Rakhine state to leave immediately.

1. As per the Israeli military report, 32 of the 136 hostages captured by Hamas and its allies during their Oct. 7 attack on Israel have died since the start of the ongoing war in the Middle East.
2. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed former French foreign minister Catherine Colonna to lead an independent review of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) amid a scandal involving claims that its staff were involved in the October 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.
3. Prince Harry, who lives in California, landed in London on Tuesday (Feb 6) to visit his father King Charles III after the monarch’s cancer diagnosis, local media reports said. Meghan Markle or their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not accompanied Harry.
4. PAKISTAN ELECTIONS: The caretaker government in Pakistan will consider shutting down the internet connections on the polling day on 08 Feb.
