1. Exchange of fishermen between India and Bangladesh completed at the international maritime Border in Bay of Bengal. 95 Indian fishermen, who were detained in Bangladesh for allegedly violating international border are returning to India. Similarly, 90 Bangladeshi fishermen returned to their country.
2. Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel has successfully concluded his first official visit to India, which took place from January 2 to January 5, 2025.
3. The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from January 8 to 10, 2025. This biennial event serves as a significant platform for connecting the Indian diaspora with the Government of India and celebrating their contributions to the nation.
4. The Bangladesh government cancelled a gazette allowing 50 judicial officials to take part in training courses in National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, and a state judicial academy in India. The Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs of Bangladesh disclosed the decision in a circular issued on Sunday.
5. ISRO has successfully operated India’s first space robotic arm, the Relocatable Robotic Manipulator-Technology Demonstrator (RRM-TD), aboard the POEM4 platform as part of the PSLV-C60 SpaDeX mission. This milestone was showcased in a video released by ISRO, demonstrating the arm’s capabilities in performing various tasks in space.

5. In Pakistan: 8 killed, 40 injured in Suicide Bomb Blast in Balochistan.
6. In Sudan, at least 8 civilians were killed and 53 others got injured in artillery shelling by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the capital city of Khartoum and El Fasher city in western Sudan’s North Darfur State.
