1. Over 3232 kilometres of the India-Bangladesh border have been covered with a fence out of over 4096 km of total length. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that the fencing helps ensure a crime-free border by effectively addressing the challenges of cross-border criminal activities, smuggling, movement of criminals, and trafficking.

2. India has contributed 37.64 million US Dollars to the United Nation’s Regular Budget for this year, securing its place among the 35 member states honoured for timely and full payment of their dues. This contribution was made on the 31st of last month.

3. Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Yermekbayev has arrived in New Delhi yesterday. In a social media post, External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, the visit underscores the country’s commitment to enhancing regional cooperation, security, and trade and economic development.

4. The Environment Ministry announced that the Framework Agreement on the establishment of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) has officially come into force. The IBCA and its Secretariat have become a full-fledged, treaty-based, inter-governmental international organization and legal entity as of January 23. Five countries – Nicaragua, Eswatini, India, Somalia, and Liberia – have deposited their instruments of ratification under the Framework Agreement. As of now, 27 countries, including India, have consented to join the IBCA

5. Indian Embassy in Libya facilitated the return of 18 Indian nationals from Benghazi, Libya.

6. Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy yesterday held a high-level meeting with Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef in New Delhi.

7. King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj yesterday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took a holy dip on the occasion.

1. The Flemish nationalist became Belgium’s prime minister: Once an advocate of separation from French-speaking Wallonia, Bart De Wever, the president of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), has become the head of the federal government.

2. World Cancer Day is being observed yesterday to raise awareness about cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. This year, the day is being observed under the theme – United by Unique.

3. In Bangladesh, the High Court refused to grant bail to Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatan Jagran Jote spokesperson and former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in a sedition case filed over alleged desecration of the national flag.

4. Dubai is preparing to host the inaugural Global Justice, Love & Peace Summit on April 12-13, 2025, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City. The event, organised by the I am Peacekeeper Movement, will bring together 2,800 peacekeepers and 72 distinguished speakers, including 10 Nobel Laureates, heads of state, and religious leaders.

5. Sri Lanka is celebrated its 77th National Day yesterday. The official celebrations were held at Independence Square in Colombo, featuring a military parade, cultural performances, and a special address by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

6. Russia will deploy its Oreshnik missile systems in Belarus in accordance with the agreements reached between the two countries.

7. A senior Taliban minister who expressed support for reversing the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan appears to have been forced to flee the country.

8. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) successfully launched the fifth H-3 rocket, which carried the Michibiki No. 6 satellite. This satellite will play a crucial role in enhancing Japan’s positioning system, a key component of its own version of the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS).

9. At least ten persons were killed, including the gunman, and several were hurt in a shooting at a school in central Sweden on Tuesday.
