1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to embark on a five-nation visit to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia today.
2. India and Pakistan exchange lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India has shared names of 382 civilian prisoners and 81 fishermen in its custody. Similarly, Pakistan has also shared names of 53 civilian prisoners and 193 fishermen.
3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has stressed that the world must display zero tolerance towards terrorism and victims and perpetrators must never be equated. He said, India has every right to defend its people against terrorism and the country will exercise that right. The Minister was speaking at the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Washington DC yesterday.
The Quad, comprising India, the US, Australia and Japan, is a key grouping largely focusing on peace, security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
4. Hindi teachers from Sri Lankan government schools will undergo training in India under a special programme at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (KHS), Agra for the first time.
5. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, led a high-level delegation to Dubai, where he formally inaugurated the international offices of two major Indian public sector enterprises, NMDC Limited and MECON Limited.
6. A high-powered business delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has arrived in Sri Lanka to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties. The 15-member team is led by Sanjiv Puri, Chairman & MD of ITC Ltd and Immediate Past President of CII. The visit, from June 29 to July 2.

1. Thailand’s Constitutional Court has suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from office over a leaked phone call with former Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
2. A heatwave is continuing across Europe, with France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Germany under heat alerts. In France, a red alert, the highest extreme heat warning, is in place, including Paris, where the top of the Eiffel Tower is closed. Two people have died in Italy as temperatures soar, while 50,000 have been evacuated because of wildfires in western Turkey.
3. Bangladesh interim government’s Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed that elections would be held in the country “in the early part of next year”. During a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio yesterday, Mr Yunus also sought US support for the country’s democratic transition.
4. A total of 3,284 Afghan families, comprising 13 thousand 29 members have returned to their homeland on Monday from neighboring Iran and Pakistan.
5. In Pakistan, monsoon rains in the Punjab province have claimed 18 lives, including 11 children.
6. US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order terminating Syria sanctions. The White House stated that Trump signed the historic Executive Order terminating the Syria sanctions program to support the path to stability and peace.
