1. 🇺🇦Ukraine and its neighbouring country 🇲🇩Moldova experienced power outages yesterday. The grid emergency caused a halt to Kyiv’s water supply and metro operations. The cause of the malfunction currently remains unclear. In a social media post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a technical incident occurred on the energy grid and two lines between Romania and Moldova, as well as lines on Ukrainian territory, stopped operating.
2. 🇧🇩Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a protest march at Dhaka University. The protest was against remarks about working women allegedly posted from Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman’s X account, which the group said were objectionable and degrading.
3. Afghanistan’s Taliban-led administration recently announced plans to begin construction of dams over the Kunar River. This is a key waterway that flows into Pakistan’s northwestern region.
