1. India and Bangladesh will hold their bi-annual Director General -level border talks in Dhaka next month to discuss issues related to curbing a variety of cross-frontier crimes and measures to create better coordination between their security forces and agencies.
2. The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that the entry of foreign nationals into the country is a sovereign decision regarding the denial of entry to Nitasha Kaul, a UK national.
Notably, UK-based Indian-origin academic and professor, Nitasha Kaul, claimed that she was deported from India immediately after her arrival at the Bengaluru airport. Kaul said that she was invited by the Karnataka government for a two-day conclave on constitutional rights. The invite had sparked controversy after the BJP claimed that Kaul had alleged sympathies towards Pakistan.
3. The government confirmed on Thursday that a team of Indian technical personnel have landed in Maldives to replace military troops that have been operating aircraft there. The development indicates a compromise between the Indian government and the recently elected Muizzu government of Maldives on the contentious issue of Indian troops stationed in the Maldives that had become the target of the “India Out” campaign run by the ruling party.
4. Recently Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and German Ministry of Defence State Secretary Benedikt Zimmer chaired the India-Germany High Defence Committee (HDC) meeting in Berlin. The two sides discussed a range of bilateral security and defence issues, with a focus on developing the defence cooperation as a key pillar of the Strategic Partnership between India and Germany.
5. India, along with South Africa, successfully blocked a key proposal led by China at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on the third day of the conference. The proposal, known as the Investment Facilitation Development Agreement (IFD), is unlikely to be included in the final outcome document of the ongoing Ministerial Conference.
6. India criticises Pakistan at UNHRC; Says it has no locus standi to pronounce on internal matter to India.
India has retaliated that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is an integral and inalienable part of India, and the constitutional measures taken by the Government of India to ensure socio-economic development and good governance in the Union Territory. Exercising the ‘Right of Reply’ at the High-Level Segment of the 55th Regular Session of the UN Human Rights Council on Wednesday, first Secretary Anupama Singh said Jammu and Kashmir are matters internal to India. Pakistan has no locus standi to pronounce on matters that are internal to India.

1. Russia on Thursday launched into space Pars 1, an Iranian imaging satellite, which has the capability of sending high-resolution images of surface locations from its orbit 500 km above Earth.
