ten past half, clock chimed twice,
I knew it was time. if I didn’t leave
then,
I would never be on time.
ii.
whole day I will be found crawling
behind schedule, creeping on multiple
chores, and chasing the written targets,
yet, uninspired.
iii.
and so, with each pass of minute, I
grew more furious, impatient,
and desperate, as if I am farm egg
and someone is boiling me for
breakfast.
v.
minutes passed into hours, hours
into days, days into seasons,
and the responsibility of taking
care of business and family
fell from few minutes to an
entire lifetime.
