In among the best hours
and worst of days, I recall you
God, sometimes to thank you
other times to pray
for guidance.
Life offers both sugar and salt.
But you offer only light and warmth.
It is we who are blind to your
grace. Otherwise, you are always
here with us.
How forlorn! We have you and
yet, we look for you elsewhere
as if physical presence will
enlighten our hearts.
But will it? For, we have an entire
season to grow, bloom and shed.
And yet, we hold on to things
that are going to pass. Sometimes,
I could not help but wonder
What if our hearts are open
to each other like
You keep for all your children?
What if our crown is open
to absorb all the blessings
that you offer every morning?
Perhaps, there will be no crimes,
no wars, no communal hatred,
no fights.
We will all attain peace together
in reverence of you.
