I am not an insider
I am a stranger on my
own land.
when Nissim said the same
I sincerely felt nothing
for him or his situation
except for a stark indifference
settling heavily on my soul.
and perhaps that precise
moment, I drew a soulful
connection with him.
because ever since I am Nissim
a foreigner to own country,
land, people, culture
and family.
I even follow a different
religion in my head,
other than the one
I am born in.
I wish that love and acceptance
comes easily to me as
it comes to you and when
it comes, it stays, and it grows
with time.
