Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia

When I returned from
the Singhpokharia village
yesterday evening

I found my grandfather
drenched in sweat
with scattered limbs.

He was awake
and unconscious.

His eyes looked different.

I was scared to death.
Because it was death
I was looking at.

I made him chew biscuits,
sweets, and gulp the
lemon water, all forcefully.

His eyes pleaded to mine
like Dumbledore did Harry
when he forced down the dark
water down his throat.

And the thing that made this
entire process extra difficult
was the gravity of the falling
minute and no quick wit of
realizing what exactly was
happening to him.

It was Hypoglycemia.
Hypoglycemia is a medical
condition where blood sugar
falls below 54 mg/dl. It may lead
to confusion, coma, or even
death sometimes.
