Hour to Act

Hour to Act

Is the world changing,
shaping with each decade,
or deforming? yes, the
bilateral agreements are
being signed, missiles are
being bought, and roads are
being replenished, but
that does not say anything
about the quality of humans
being brought up.

I see a child of five smoking
bidi on the roadside, a teenage
girl escaping home at night
to drink daru in the shop,
ten people coexisting in
one room anyhow,

an entire clan diving into
the roadside hole to draw dirty
water for family and cattle.

we are invariably developing at
a rate that India had never
witnessed after
Independence.

but now, is the time for citizens
to step up, act, and fill the economic
divide.

the state is trying. but it is not enough.
we, citizens, should step up
NOW.
