We all struggle. We all have days when we are just floundering. Reasons can be a world apart: they can be personal or professional, internal or external, physical or spiritual, compulsive or conscious.
These are a few of the days when we lose our animalistic instinct of survival and drift into the silence of sadness. Meals do not satisfy our appetite, a whole day’s sleep is not enough, joints of the body ache, the mind hurts, and the heart has already lost its melody.
It goes on and on until one day, we decide to put an end to it and decide to build ourselves back and beyond recognition. So, where do we start?
Heard of Vipassana? The 10 days meditation retreat has changed the lives who have undergone it. Meditation can be powerful or not so powerful (based on an individual’s willingness and interest), but the situations and conditions which the disciples have to follow bring the real difference.
Two of those, are important conditions that can be used for us to come out of floundering. These tools are very powerful, use them with extreme caution:
- Switch off the Phone: as per the experiences shared by Vipassana students, in the initial 4-5, they feel terrible, relief, sadness, restlessness, irritation, and negativity when they are not to check the phone. But eventually, they begin experiencing the difference between using tech for aid is different from the technology used under the veil of compulsiveness. Such a pitiful way to live life! Under compulsiveness.
- Silence: Everything in this Universe is the vibrations. AUM sound is the core of all sounds. And the core of it is silence. So, ultimately the biggest universal truth in the universe is silence.
Practicing silence and switching off 6 hours a day, holds the limitless potential to transform ourselves in 360 degrees.
