Daydreaming

Daydreaming

“ There is always a kid in the class, who is always daydreaming. Traveling to distant moors and
crossing different dimensions”
~Rumi

the jaw lapses for breath
and stretches
like a waking
lioness

to puff
the lungs with
poisonous air.

in the presence
of a
speaking
tiger.

and then,
the eyelids turn
inward and
upward in the
rope war
of tie and pull

and drop-down
menacingly
into the
dream world.

after a while,
the heavy head
drops jerkingly
on the scratched
wooden bench

and with a clap of thunder,
I come awake

to a dull classroom
full of
nodding
zombies.
