Even when everything in me
is tranquil as a lake, even though
everything about me is pure as
God,
I have a past,
a dark past,
which keeps following me,
even when I am not looking,
I have lived it,
I have overcome it,
I pray not to be entangled
in it, it was difficult to battle
out of it, and surely, I am
stronger than before
but not indifferent yet,
for, I feel the hurt, the pain,
the trauma, just like I still
sunshine, love, and music.
