The flight crashed shortly after taking off.

The flight was between Ahmedabad and London, to land at the Gatwick airport.
The flight was a Boeing Airliner 787, which has been in the news for consistently giving airlines maintenance troubles.
The flight took off at 1:38 pm, and crashed five minutes later, shortly after leaving the airport.
There was a ‘mayday’ call before it crashed.
Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is now shut.
