“At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for — the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?”
– Marcus Aurelius
Even when my hand, heart,
and head are tired, drooping,
I must carry on
for, I am not a teenager anymore,
and my moves are not enslaved to
hormones.
I am a full-fledged woman,
with a nurtured mind, mature
composure, a kind smile,
a loving heart, and
compassionate actions.
My family, friends, studies,
and part-time business
demand responsibility
from me.
And so, I never lose to myself.
I fight for habits I want to create,
I fight for days I want to shine,
and I work hard and smart
for, tomorrow begins
from today.
