Bailed Out

Bailed Out

When you asked me to write
a poem, I would have written
immediately, but further you
added to put a price to it.

I got furious, left the page
empty, and bailed out. I
am sorry, that is never a
decent call to make.

You deserve the
whole truth. Oh No,
No, No, No, No, I am
never afraid to write. But
to write with expectations,
deadlines, commercials,
or for businesses, is not
how I work.

I write to know who I
am, what I want, and how I
am feeling. Otherwise, it is a
real mess in there.

(Just remember:

Dear friend,
Never ask an artist
to sell her art. She might sell
her virginity but not the art. How
can you pay the price
of the piece
of her soul?

She is not a business.)
