We all know that the times are crazy. It is nothing like we have ever seen before and pray it is nothing like we will ever again. It is easy to give in to the feeling of despair and helplessness, easy to play the blame game. Who did what? What wasn’t done? What could have been done? How did I get it? Could it be prevented?
Questions that warrant an answer yet questions that don’t have answers, just opinions, and we get caught between those opinions. Knowingly and unknowingly get influenced and then influence others to create an atmosphere of unimaginable fear.
Amidst all this, it is important to remember that we all have a role to play to fight these unusual situations. A group of Old Students from Modern School have got together to play their part and have initiated the MODERNITES KITCHEN FOR SENIOR CITIZENS.
The most vulnerable part of our society is dealing with not just the onslaught of the Covid-19 but also face difficult times to perform basic errands. Most are without house helps, some alone with their children away and far from assistance.
Modernites Kitchen for Senior Citizens aims to provide nutritious food to Senior Citizens. It will be delivered free of cost to all those who need it. The Food is prepared in the premier kitchen of our gourmet partner – Captain G’s Burger Co. It is prepared with the highest quality of food material following all safety protocols and delivered through its fleet.
The Modernites from various batches have come forth to support this endeavour and ensure that help is reached to all who need our care at these times.
With the hope that our initiative gives a smile to some, we begin on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. In the first phase, we will supply Lunch only to areas in South Delhi and Connaught Place. We will include more areas to cover Delhi NCR as soon as we can.
