Huma Qureshi’s upcoming project, Maharani, is set to stream on SonyLIV on May 28. The makers have revealed another look of the actress from the show, where she’s seen donning the look of a Chief Minister. Huma is seen wearing dark-coloured sarees paired with shawls symbolising the right attitude required for her role. With dark kohl eyes and a red bindi, Huma looks convincing.
Talking about her Chief Minister look, Huma says, “I’m excited and looking forward to the show streaming soon. We’ve got a great response to the teaser and I’m sure our viewers will be well entertained through the show. Playing Rani Bharati is multifaceted, she has various shades associated to her character and that has been a great honour to portray. We tried various looks to get into the skin of the character that helped establish the phases in her life.”
Illiterate, yet wise enough to separate the wheat from the chaff, docile yet combative when danger looms large on her family, Rani Bharati is a woman with striking contrasts. Her life turns upside down following a decision her husband takes.
Directed by Karan Sharma and created by Subhash Kapoor, the show features Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, and Vineet Kumar, among others.
