Triptii Dimri adds a significant curve to her body of work with the upcoming film, O’ Romeo. During the trailer launch event held today, on 21st January, Triptii shared her experience of playing an emotionally layered role of Afsha, and opened up about how co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Avinash Tiwary were supportive throughout.
Sharing her experience of portraying the emotionally layered role, Triptii shared, “It was amazing. It was a little challenging too. Luckily, I had Vishal sir supporting me, and Shahid was always there. He is the most supportive co-actor, and even Avinash Tiwary. Mere jitne bhi co-actors the iss film mein, they have been very supportive. I don’t think I would have been able to pull this off without their help and support.”
Further, the actress revealed undertaking acting workshops that helped her understand her character’s depth. “And of course I did acting workshops with Atul Monge sir, he’s just so brilliant. Unke workshop me aap jaate ho ye soch ke ki aap acting seekhoge, but I think that you come back with so much more information about life and yourself. With the help of sir, I got an opportunity to understand the depth of my character, and it’s just been a brilliant journey. Vishal sir ki film hai toh wo khud me ek acting class hai – wo rooz kuch naa kuch challenges throw karte hai aap par. It’s just brilliant. It was a beautiful experience. I think every actor should experience this,” she shared.
In O’ Romeo, Triptii drives the film’s emotional narrative as Afsha, adding meaning to her intense chemistry with co-star Shahid Kapoor, all while putting her incredible acting range on full display – and audiences are waiting with bated breath to see what she’s yet to unfold as the film releases in theatres.
The film brings a glittery ensemble together, with Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Farida Jalal. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O’ Romeo is slated to release in theatres on February 13, 2025, coinciding with Valentine’s Day.
