Ishika Shahi’s new web series titled Jabb Zodiacs Met revolves around the 12 zodiac signs and their influence on an individual’s life. The 12-episode series, which has been produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Production and streams on their official YouTube channel, went live on January 16. Arvind Maurya plays the role of Jaggu in the series and shared that the concept felt fresh to him.
He said, “I honestly found the concept very interesting. The idea of 12 zodiac signs and 12 different stories makes the show feel fresh and relatable. Astrology is something everyone talks about, so it instantly connects with the audience. I feel it is quite challenging because portraying astrology-based stories is not easy—it requires effort from actors, directors, and the production team.”
He believes in the universe and timings but did not explore his zodiac sign for his character. He said, “My character was quite simple, and even in the astrology chart, it was portrayed in a very simple way, so I performed it naturally.”
Arvind’s character is simple and straightforward, and it goes perfectly with the zodiac (name the sign) he played. However, in real life, he said, “I am someone who is curious and open to exploring different aspects of myself and life, and I am drawn toward understanding deeper human emotions and cosmic connections.”
“These traits define me more personally, while my character has traits that fit the storyline and the zodiac theme we were portraying,” he added.
He also mentioned that it was quite challenging to portray the emotions, as astrology-based stories require not just acting but a strong understanding of emotions that are influenced by abstract concepts like zodiac traits, cosmic connections, and destiny.
He said, “In today’s modern times, people do not believe in astrology much, so making the audience connect with these emotions becomes difficult. Actors, directors, and the production team all have to put in extra effort to make these concepts relatable.”
“Still, we tried our best to tell the story through honest acting and performances so that viewers can feel and connect with my character emotionally,” Arvind ended.
