Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi is back with Laughter Chefs Season 3, which is all set to premiere on November 22. The show has been loved by the audience, and Chef Harpal has been applauded for bringing a unique blend of food and laughter on the stage. Talking about the new season, he said, “I think I’ve got a clear formula—success has to be repeated. You can only add some value to it, but the formats and everything remain the same. And I’ve been following this principle in my life, and this is a clear-cut management principle that success has to be repeated. You should not tamper with what is working for you.”
Sharing his personal experience with this mantra, he stressed that he follows it in his restaurants. He said, “I don’t allow anybody to change any format. Only a subtle hint of color in some areas that adds a little more value to the entire concept is there. But I would say 90% of things remain the same. And that is the reason we have seen success in our restaurants.”
He further stressed that the same applies to Laughter Chef Season 3 too. He added, “The vibe remains the same, the format remains the same, the quirkiness, the happiness. The recipes are the only thing that is upgraded, and that is the only thing that will be. That is where the changes will be seen.”
Chef Harpal is happy that Laughter Chef has established itself as a program with a different vibe. He said, “It brings out laughter. It brings out the unique and most powerful tool of cooking, which we all respect in India. And a combination of comedy and cooking, put together with a lot of energy from all the stars, makes it different. I think keeping the same momentum forward is what I’m looking at.”
And of course there will be some new elements that will be brought. He said, “Bringing in some new stars in cooking would be of great interest to watch. I think changing any kind of format in Laughter Chef wouldn’t be viable or advisable, and I don’t think we are doing it here.”
“We are just keeping the same momentum, the same format, and the same vibe that you’ve been seeing in Laughter Chef Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3. We are just taking it forward and, you know, bringing in the same energy that makes you smile when you watch us on the screens,” he added. Chef Harpal mentioned that cooking and comedy are a great combination and a combination that has worked successfully. He said, “Both the things are very dear to the people of our country. Comedy brings out, you know, the laughter in you, helps you relieve the stress, and makes life a little lighter. Cooking is also, at the same time, a stress buster. People enjoy cooking. People fall in love when they go to the kitchen. They relieve their stress.”
He shared that it brings in happiness and said that he has been doing this for a long time. He said, “I’ve been bringing happiness in the kitchen through my jingle, Namak samak dal dete hain. And we have further added value by doing Zubaan ki balle balle and bringing in quirky dishes and interesting dishes. This is so that people get excited to see how stars perform when they cook.”
“The combination of laughter, a combination of happiness, a combination of cooking. This thing is very dear to our country. And it makes you feel so happy and light that you want to see more and more of the laughter or interesting comedy talent over a period of time. Performance is very important for on-the-spot thinking, which makes people laugh,” Chef Harpal ended.
