Actress Samridhii Shukla, who currently plays the lead in the long-running and much-loved show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, opens up about finding the right opportunities, the role of luck, maintaining balance, and her ambitions with refreshing honesty.
Reflecting on how she navigates opportunities in a highly competitive industry, Samridhii shares, “Opportunities are all around, but the real challenge is choosing the ones that truly align with who you are. In a space filled with such talented people, clarity matters — knowing your values, your comfort zone, and the kind of roles that speak to you. For me, it was never about doing every project, but doing the right one. That’s why Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai feels like the perfect fit. It allows me to grow, to learn, and to collaborate with an amazing team.”
When asked about the influence of luck, she smiles, “Luck definitely plays a role, but it’s never the whole story. When I joined Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, some said I was lucky. But luck only helps if you’re ready for the opportunity — the long hours, the emotional investment, the dedication. Luck opens the door, but hard work is what takes you inside.”
Balancing a demanding schedule with personal well-being isn’t easy, and Samridhii approaches it with mindfulness. “Being part of a daily soap means unpredictable schedules and emotional highs and lows. For me, balance is about being fully present — whether it’s with my loved ones or by myself. It’s not about equal time, but about full attention,” she explains.
Looking ahead, Samridhii’s focus is clear. “At this stage, I want to grow as an actor and a storyteller. My character in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has so many shades — strength, softness, conflict, love — and that complexity inspires me. I want to keep exploring, keep challenging myself, and for now, I’m giving my all to this journey.”
