Renowned holistic healer Pooja Seth, an expert in crystal therapy, chakra balancing, pranic healing, sound healing, emphasizes that the energy of a study space plays a crucial role in shaping one’s concentration and learning capacity. Drawing from Vastu Shastra, she highlights how carefully chosen posters and images can enhance intellectual clarity, reduce distractions, and support academic success.

According to her, the study room is not just a corner to sit and read but a space where mental focus and intellectual energy must be maximized. Here are her key recommendations for posters that can transform the energy of any study room:

1. Maa Saraswati – The Goddess of Learning
An image of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, music, and the arts, is among the most auspicious choices for a study space. Pooja suggests placing her serene image directly in front of the study table or on the eastern wall, as it inspires discipline, clarity, and the pursuit of knowledge.

2. Lord Ganesha – Remover of Obstacles
A poster of Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of intellect, helps eliminate mental blocks and strengthens memory. Placing his image on the northeast wall or beside Maa Saraswati enhances focus and ensures smoother academic progress.

3. Rising Sun and Nature Motifs
Posters of the rising sun bring new beginnings, hope, and vibrant energy. When placed on the east wall, they motivate learners to start their day positively. Similarly, calm nature images such as green landscapes, flowing rivers, or mountain ranges promote mental stability. Mountains, in particular, represent strength and consistency, making them suitable for the southwest wall.

4. Flying Birds and Galloping Horses
Dynamic imagery like seven galloping horses or flying birds symbolizes vitality, speed, and progress. Pooja advises placing these on the north or northeast walls to encourage motivation and steady effort, especially for students prone to procrastination.

5. Symbols of Knowledge
Subtle imagery of open books, pens, or the Bodhi tree can work as subconscious reminders of the value of learning. Such posters are best placed on the eastern or northern walls, gently reinforcing the study environment.

6. Inspirational Quotes
Framed quotes in soothing tones, carrying messages of perseverance, discipline, and self-belief, serve as daily motivators. These should be placed on walls where the student’s gaze naturally falls during breaks.

However, Pooja also stresses caution: “Avoid posters that depict violence, sadness, chaotic scenes, or aggressive imagery. Such visuals create subconscious unrest and disturb mental focus. Even overly neon or jarring designs can overstimulate the brain and reduce concentration,” she explains.

By aligning visual elements with Vastu principles, Pooja Seth believes students can create a harmonious, motivating, and positive study room—a space that not only enhances learning but also nurtures emotional balance.
