On the occasion of India completing 75 years of Independence, Tips Music released a new version of their iconic patriotic song “Des Mere Des” by adding a tadka of Rap to it. For the first time in history, a patriotic song has been looked at through the lens of new-age music.
Sung by Bandish and Deeksha Toor, Huma Sayyed has lent her amazing vocals for the Rap. The music is by Sid Paul and the lyrics are penned by Rishi Pathak.
The revamped “Des Mere Des” version is a take on the original song to declare one’s undying love for India. The lyrics create resonance with the theme of identity, love and oneness towards India. Sentimental yet passionate lyrics remind everyone about the countless sacrifices of those who laid down their lives protecting the freedom of this country while making every Indian proud about their nationality and giving the listeners goosebumps.
*Bandish says* “It is for the first time that a patriotic song in the form of rap has been made. Though the original version will always be special, this one stirs up emotions of patriotism and also serves as a potent reminder of the sacrifice made by the country’s soldiers”
*Huma Sayyed says* “No one could have imagined a rap version for such an iconic track. There have been multiple patriotic songs made in none have rap as a genre attached to it. It has our heart and soul”
*Sid Paul says*, “It is after two years that we are celebrating Independence Day physically just like we used to do it Pre-COVID. On the occasion of Independence Day, the nation might be dealing with multiple issues, but everyone can put that aside to celebrate the independence.”
*Rishi Pathak says*, “Rap is one of the few genres which can propel change and give a message. With the right use of words, it can ignite emotions buried deep in hearts. Our aim with Des Mere Des was to give a message for unity, loud and clear. While instilling the feeling of patriotism and Desh Bhakti”
