Singer Hitesh Rikki Madan’s latest single Tu Bataa was recently released at the Clef Music Awards. “This is my sixth single. It is a collaboration with my sons, Arriv Madan and Advay Madan, who have launched themselves in the professional circuit with this song,” says Hitesh.
Hitesh has always been dedicated in his endeavour to bring out good music and has been keen to connect with the audiences of the world to spread joy, besides feeling motivated to keep doing what he does best – creating great songs and good music.
Talking about his latest song he says, “A Hindi pop-rock song, Tu Bataa is a quintessential Gen Z love story waiting to unfurl: boy is smitten, will she want to make it a night to remember? With high energy performances and a video to match, it features Arriv on vocals and bass, Advay on vocals and drums and me on vocals and guitars. It is very heartening to have my sons collaborate with me on my journey as an artiste.”
Not just Hitesh, who has been in the professional music circuit for decades, but even his teenaged sons Advay and Arriv are abundant in talent and raring to go in their musical pursuits. They have given superlative performances in Tu Bataa, owning the song brilliantly and making dad Hitesh proud as they try to match up.
Talking about the video Hitesh says, “The video is electrifying, by filmmaker-director Vishesh Verma, the extraordinaire who has collaborated on three other music videos with me and has grown so fond of my boys over time. Together with National Award-winning director of photography Sachin Gadankush, this dream-team from Mumbai enthrals with visuals that are dreamy yet grungy, rugged yet sexy, pacy yet deliberate.”
In launching his teenage sons, Hitesh comes full circle; he was also 19 when, as part of Euphoria, Dhoom was released in 1998. The members of this father-son trio complement each other, each being gifted uniquely and playing his strength to bring a fresh, new-age sound to this out-and-out rock song, Tu Bataa. Hooky guitar riffs, a heartwarming groovy bassline and punchy drums bring alive the track, springing surprises as we listen.
Arriv’s distinctive voice opens the song, moving to Hitesh’s dulcet vocals and then Advay’s husky baritone. It’s a dynamically rich track with rap-like spoken verses, lilting pre chorus, full-throttle voices backed by overdrive distortion guitar in the high energy chorus, and interspersed with three-part harmonies, all culminating in this sublime composition. It is interesting to note how the kids’ voices have transformed with age since their last song release Aao Naa in 2021.
The video has been shot in a factory at the Delhi border backed by the best in the industry. In dear friend Vishesh, Hitesh finds the visionary who understands and drives each project to fruition. Their collaborations, Tu Bataa being the fourth, have worked marvellously, owing much to Vishesh’s love for music, Hitesh’s complete faith in Vishesh’s genius and their shared work ethos.
The audio was released across all streaming platforms on June 28 and there was a performance by Hitesh and his sons on the same evening at the Clef Music Awards.
The musical trio is looking forward to their performance at ICCR Auditorium, New Delhi on July 29 to promote Tu Bataa and other erstwhile releases.
