After success with lo-fi gem Dil Tenu, Devika returns with a dark & feisty single, Kalli Kalli Raati

Kalli Kalli Raati

Contemporary Indian singer Devika who gave us memorable songs such as Kehnde Ne Naina, Barkhaa Bahaar, Ek Tera Pyaar (with Bohemia) & Dil Tenu most recently has just released a dark & feisty, Punjabi rock-fusion number Kalli Kalli Raati. The raspy-voiced singer is known for the old-world charm her renditions carry, as also her ability to showcase Punjabi music differently.

An energetic Sufi-Pop-Rock number by the Delhi-born, San Francisco-based artist, Kalli Kalli Raati translates to “Dark & Lonely Night” from punjabi. The upbeat song with its infectious groove and livewire vocals make it a perfect fit for ‘the season’, while the intrigue and mystery along with the rich visuals of the video complement the audio beautifully. Devika’s last release was a lo-fi video single Dil Tenu which received over a million streams and was welcomed both by the press and the audiences for its composition lyrics and Devika’s husky voice of course.

The collaboration-friendly, Grammy-submitted artist was recently seen on stage with Ali Zafar in the US, performing a duet with the popular singer on one of his famous tracks called Sajna Door. On her recent visit to India, she indicated that many more collaborations are in the offing, along with her solo renditions.
