CRY, Shiamak Davar’s Victory Arts Foundation and Mumbai’s Own Dancing Cop Amol Kamble had Mumbai dancing to a flash mob performed to throw light on the issue of higher education amongst girls.

On Saturday evening, visitors at Oberoi Mall in Goregaon west were surprised and electrified by a flash mob hosted by Child Rights and You – CRY, Shiamak Davar’s Victory Arts Foundation and Mumbai’s Own Dancing Cop Amol Kamble to promote the message of higher education among girls. The event was part of CRY’s on ground activities being conducted as part of Poori Padhai Desh Ki Bhalai, a pan-India awareness campaign to raise public awareness and change societal attitudes towards girls’ education.

The talented dancers of Victory Arts Foundation kicked off the flash mob before being joined by Mumbai’s very own ‘Dancing Cop’ Amol Kamble and over 100 supporters of CRY. They energetically danced to the beats of Chale Chalo and Bum Bum Bole, mesmerising the crowd of onlookers in the mall.

The seven-week-long campaign had kicked off on the 24th of June in five Metro cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata, and engaged all its stakeholders to address gender disparities in education. CRY is one of the leading child rights organisations working with Indian children along with its many grassroots-level partner organisations spread across 20 intervention states and we have seen that the longer the girls stay in school, the more empowered they become to participate in decisions that most affect them, and they can build better futures for themselves, their families and their communities. Through this campaign, we hope to prevent many more girls from dropping out of school. The campaign will culminate in November later this year.

“For the past four decades CRY has been instrumental in bringing a change in the lives of many adolescent girls through education and today’s flash mob, a part of our national campaign which we have been promoting since past few days is a fun way of highlighting this. We were honoured to be joined by Shaimak Davar’s team as well as Amol Kamble support us in this initiative,” said Kreeanne Rabadi, Regional Director, CRY – West

Dancing Cop Amol Kamble said, “I feel incredibly fortunate to join this CRY Campaign. As a father to a daughter myself, I understand first-hand the importance of education in shaping her future. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow, and I am committed to doing my part to make that a reality.”

Affectionately known as Mumbai’s very own Dancing Cop, Amol Kamble has become a beacon of inspiration for many in the community. He has served in the Mumbai Police for several years and is not just a law enforcement officer but is also a talented dancer whose energetic performances have captivated audiences across the country. His love for dance began at a young age, and despite the demanding nature of his job, he has never let go of this passion. As a role model for both aspiring dancers and police officers, Kamble emphasizes the importance of balance. “Dance is my escape, my way of connecting with people. But my duty to protect and serve the citizens will always come first.” Through social media and community events, Kamble shares his dance videos, which not only entertain but also promote messages of unity and positivity. His performances often take place during community outreach programs, bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public.

Victory Arts Foundation (VICTORY) was founded by Shiamak Davar in 2004 to provide a platform to address social causes and concerns.
