Actor Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub has made a mark in the industry with his versatility. He is best known for his performances in films like Raanjhanaa, Article 15, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Mission Mangal, Raees, Tubelight and Shahid, among others. Now, he’s all geared-up for his soon-to-release Amazon Original Series, Tandav.
Zeeshan says that shooting for the show got him reminisce about his college days in Delhi. “I relived my college days with Tandav. We shot a lot of college sequences in the same college and hostel where I studied (Delhi University north campus). College days are the building blocks of your life and they are unforgettable. You spend a lot of time on the college campus with friends, free of all the worries and problems, just having fun and not realising how many memories you’re making in the process. And that’s what Tandav did for me. It surrounded me with a wave of nostalgia that brought back a lot of emotions attached to it. It was fun shooting in a real college space. Shooting on campus made me reminisce the good old days when my friends and I didn’t have much money in our pockets, but we had a lot of life in our hearts. Our staple diet was garam chai with Maggie and through Tandav I got to relive my prime days again.”
The actor hails from Delhi and he enjoyed the shooting experience outside the campus, too, because that brought memories of his theatre days back. “We also shot some sequences in the local theatres of Mandi House. So, I relived my theatre days as well. The best part was going back to the same place where I started years ago.”
Produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar, the nine-episode political drama features an ensemble cast, including Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea, Kumud Mishra, Gauahar Khan, Amyra Dastur, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, Sandhya Mridul, Annup Sonii, Hitten Ttejwani, Paresh Pahuja and Shonali Nagrani, among others. Tandav premieres on January 15.
