New Delhi— Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has finally spoken up about why she did not attend the highly anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, an event that attracted celebrities from across the globe.
In a candid interview, Kangana revealed that her absence was due to a personal commitment—her younger brother’s wedding, which happened to be on the same day as the Ambani nuptials. “Anant Ambani personally invited me to his wedding. He is such a lovely boy. But I had to decline because my younger brother was getting married on the same day, and that was a very special occasion for my family,” Kangana explained.
Furthermore, Kangana mentioned her preference to avoid Bollywood’s high-profile events. She stated, “Khair, waise bhi main avoid karti hoon zyada filmy shaadiyon mein jaana,” expressing that she tends to steer clear of the industry’s grand social gatherings. Despite her decision, she extended her best wishes to the Ambani family.
The wedding, held on July 12, was a star-studded affair with guests including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. Kangana’s absence had sparked speculation, which she has now addressed with her typically forthright clarity.
On the professional front, Kangana is gearing up for the release of her next film, *Emergency*, where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film is set to hit theaters on September 6.
