In a landmark moment for Indian music, over 30 of the nation’s most celebrated musical voices—and more joining—came together today to launch Goongoonalo, India’s first artist-led, artist-owned cultural ecosystem, at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai.

Founded by legendary poet Javed Akhtar, Grammy-winning composer Shankar Mahadevan, visionary technologist Sridhar Ranganathan, and led by CEO Sherley Singh, Goongoonalo offers a new sanctuary where artists and fans unite as family. The platform blends original content, unreleased classics, lyrical intimacy, mentorship, and direct fan engagement, challenging the algorithm-driven status quo with a more human, soulful approach to music and creativity.
