The 12th of February is going to be a night with a full moon, also known as the Snow Moon. Actress Hansa Singh, who is also a tarot card reader, healer and occultist, says that this second full moon of the month comes with a lot of significance. Hansa, who has been part of projects like Human , Criminal Justice 3, film: Goodbye and currently seen in new film Despatch alongside Manoj Bajpayee on ZEE5, says that this is a day to be celebrated. “Full moon or the Snow Moon, as the name depicts, is because of severe snowfall in the west. As per Vedic it’s Magha Poornima as the magha month ends. Different parts of the country celebrate to bring in health , wealth and property by worshipping Lord Vishnu. Poornima is always sacred and auspicious. Rituals are performed by yagna and people offer prayers,” she says.
She adds, “This moon depicts mother as well as hope. So always be in gratitude. Love and respect your mother. She is the first person you know.” She says that this is a very sacred time. “As the Kumbh is going on, it is the perfect time to take the holy dip at Triveni or wherever you are, as everyone can’t be at Holy sangam. Every place is pure and pious where the intent ‘shraddha’ is there in hearts.” Hansa adds “This day is full of spiritual significance, so ask forgiveness from your ancestors (pitr). Forgive yourself too as if you don’t, you carry anger and that anger will only destroy you. Remember ‘to err is human , to forgive is divine’,” she says.
