‘BaniThani’ Handcrafted Heirlooms from JADE by Monica &Karishma is a collection inspired by every woman’s inner strength, beauty, and authenticity. The collection rejoices in the precious moments of pure femininity and presents it forward via artistry inspired by Rajasthani miniature paintings and techniques such as Leheriya.
The designers draw inspiration for one thing in particular: the miniature painting from the Kishangarh School of Miniature Art. “As the art form of Bani Thani suggests, this collection is an ode therefore to the woman who is graceful, elegant and yet unapologetic to be her own kind of beautiful. We seek to celebrate the confluence where modern-day India meets the backdrop of generations of tradition”, says Monica Shah of JADE by Monica &Karishma
To make “BaniThani” even more special, the label has also collaborated with award-winning Leheriya artist Mohd. Saquib to create a select edit of stunningly hand-dyed Leheriya ensembles with sustainable natural colours derived from turmeric, madder root, onion peels and the like. The artist has won several prestigious awards such as the National Award, Forex Award, Kala Nidhi Award and Utsav Awards for his work.
Commitment to crafts has been JADE’s foremost priority since the beginning, and this continues in their latest outing too, with inspirations drawn from Rajasthani miniature paintings, tie & dye techniques and traditional motifs. ‘Bani Thani’ – Handcrafted Heirlooms by Monica & Karishma is an extension of a love affair with age-old wisdom and handicrafts with the modern-day, 21st-century bride.
