Leading rapper, singer-songwriter, music producer and composer Dino James releases a brand new single titled ‘Lost’ in collaboration with Def Jam India ahead of his association with world’s iconic record label, Def Jam Recordings, that is home to some of the finest hip-hop and urban talent for more than 35 years.
Pegged as a bittersweet breakup song, ‘Lost’ welcomes the listener into a parallel universe where the reminiscences of being in and out of love are aesthetically spotlighted. The grovy music video features Odisha’s supermodel Naisha Bhargabi alongside Dino James and anchors the cascading emotional landscape that form the ethos of the melodic presentation lined by tropical rythms and chilled beats.
Dino James expands, “Lost is a creation which is very personal and reflects upon one of the most intimate junctures of my life. I’ve kept the vibe of the track pretty fluid with the core focus being celebration of nostalgic bittersweet memories and overriding the ‘what, how, who and when’ dynamic that generally follow after a romantic disengagement. I’m grateful to Naisha for bringing her A-game to the music video and the whole crew who took time out to put together this stellar production. I’m super kicked to be doing this with Def Jam India and I hope my fans enjoy this track.”
Rapper, singer-songwriter, composer, music producer, storyteller and YouTube sensation, Dino James, is a story in himself. The story of a man driven by the raw, unadulterated passion for songwriting, who rose from within the masses, to emerge as an iconic persona in the Indian hip-hop circuit. Hailing from humble origins, Dino’s verses are often dripping with hard-hitting truths gathered from real-life experiences.
From an early age, Dino sought inspiration from Eminem. Besides his uncanny ability to deliver fiery flows and razor-sharp rhymes, what caught Dino’s attention was Eminem’s ability to drive home an idea, a thought, in a deeply impactful way. This influence remains evident in Dino’s work, which brings together the honesty of a storyteller with the panache of a rapper. Legendary composer A.R. Rahman has been another major musical influence for Dino James. He believes that listening to Rahman’s classics at a tender age enhanced his musical sensibilities and left him inspired to achieve true excellence. While Dino James’ versatility, flair and lyrical prowess put him at par with the very best in the business, what truly sets him apart is his ability to translate thought-provoking words into an equally powerful visual narrative.
In 2016, Dino James released his debut song called “Loser” in collaboration with an Indian youtube channel. A lyrical powerhouse, ‘Loser’ struck a sensitive chord with people, and garnered 64M+ views on youtube. Early 2020 saw Dino release back-to-back hits, with his songs currently raking in 100M+ streams across all major streaming platforms. With 5M+ subscribers on his youtube channel, Dino’s audience is one that cuts across different walks of life.
