The power-packed singer Dev Negi, who has sung the recent hit song ‘Heart Throb’ for the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, is overjoyed with the response to the song. *This is Dev’s second collaboration with Ranveer Singh after ‘Aala Re Aala’ for Simmba.*
The versatile singer with amazing singing prowess has given almost all notable hits in the past like ‘Badri Ki Dulhaniya’, ‘Sweety Tera Drama’ from ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Naach Meri Jaan’ from Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’, ‘Chalti Hai Kya 9 se 12’ from ‘Judwaa 2’ and many more, and he continued to give massive hit with the recent Ranveer Singh starrer film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. While the film is going great guns at the box office, the audience is going gaga over this chartbuster song ‘Heart Throb’ and can’t stop shaking their legs at the catchy bilingual Punjabi-Hindi song, which is composed by Pritam Chakraborty.
On being asked about the song, singer Dev Negi said, “I am ecstatic and grateful at the same time. This collaboration feels like a dream team with Pritam Da & Amitabh Da. This is my fourth or fifth work association with Pritam Da and working with him has always been fun yet artistically satisfying. We, as singers do sometimes tend to tie down by very specific briefs, but at the same time, people like Pritam Da gives the opportunity to new talents and inspires us to experiment with a voice so that we could push the envelope for the song. Our collaborative effort as a team is the result of this hit track and I am happy to be part of it.”
The song features Ranveer Singh’s titular character Rocky as a true-blue Punjabi heartthrob, along with Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday & Sara Ali Khan as a special cameo. “I wanted to give the song a catchy Punjabi twist to justify the beautiful lyrics penned by great Amitabh Bhattacharya. Despite the fact that music has no language, my heart couldn’t help but add some desi vibes to the track using upbeat pop vibes to it. The song now topping the charts is icing on the cake for me. I am overwhelmed and grateful that the audience is showering me with love, just as I had hoped”, he added.
Dev is thrilled for the song to see that it struck a chord with everyone for a quintessential club hopper and the zing element in equal measures, piqued the interest for the song. Dev’s gripping presence and voice made it a song to savor, so keep humming it and shaking your legs to the song.
