After three successful releases with the label, multifaceted singer, composer, lyricist and music producer, Chhavi Sodhani launched her new track today – ’Kursi Bin Table’ on Artist Originals (AO) – JioSaavn’s hit-breaking label for global South Asian artists. The romantic number delights the audience with quirky lyrics & a melodious composition and is an ode to love. Kursi Bin Table, is a perfect wedding song and a song for every couple who take pride in their companionship.
With whimsical visuals and Chhavi’s enigmatic voice, the song celebrates the fusing of love. The fun music video is made by – A Last Bite Film.
Speaking on the release, Chhavi said, “When the connection feels right, one doesn’t have to try hard. Like a lock to a key, and a boat to the sea, we all seek partners who from I, make us WE. This is the feeling I tried capturing in ‘Kursi Bin Table’ and I hope my listeners enjoy the track as much as I enjoyed creating it. I am particularly excited to work with Artist Originals and this is my fourth track with them.”
The composition of the track is Indian in its essence with a distinct indigenous style. Chhavi produced this hybrid song by incorporating sounds of the ukulele, mandolin, accordion, guitars, harmonium and bass.
One of the 12 finalists in the debut season of Sony’s music talent hunt Fame Gurukul, Chhavi has been a musician since an early age. Feted as a child prodigy by the now-Telangana state government, Chhavi has also performed in multiple concerts around the world, with Parindey, her band with her sister Pragya Sodhani and collaborated with many celebrated artists. She has also earned laurels as a composer, winning the Best Music award at the LA LGBT International Film festival 2019 for an Australian-Indian short film, ‘Yaman’ and recently co-composed for a Naseeruddin Shah short film – ‘The Miniaturist of Junagadh’. She forayed into the independent music scene in 2020 with her debut single – ‘Banna Re’ which went onto become hugely popular and has crossed over 18 million streams. She released ‘Jaag’ next which is a song about finding one’s calling & chasing it unapologetically. Her third release was ‘Yakeen’ – a track celebrating the trailblazing women of today.
