Starting troubles is an idea conceptualised by *Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi*, an ENT surgeon, innovator and world-famous stand-up comedian based out of Bengaluru, India, elaborating further about the idea, he says “My goal with the web series is to capture & bring out the turbulences, struggles, the successes and failures experienced by doctors during the course of their training and career in an authentic way, without losing the essence yet at the same time, keeping the audience interests in mind”
“Bheja unfry” – Starting Troubles Season 2 captures the life& journey of a budding neurosurgeon Dr. Sharan Srinivasan, who is trying to treat patients with a technique that magically cures seemingly untreatable and difficult neurological tremors and spasms. However, he faces Starting Troubles as his early success starts troubles among his colleagues and seniors. With refused support from his seniors and after seeing the suffering of his patients and their families, Dr. Sharan Srinivasan, along with his wife Dr. Prathiba Sharan, decided to set up their own social enterprise called PRS Neurosciences focused on restoring ‘functional independence’ after devastating diseases like stroke, head injury, spinal cord problems, Parkinsonism, etc which is still a mirage and not easily available, even in major metros in India and the developing world. The series starts with a fascinating story of the ‘guitar surgeon’ where Dr. Sharan, portrayed onscreen by Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi performs the famous live surgery on a patient while he was playing the guitar (True incident in 2017). The success of this surgery sparks a thought-provoking tale of jealousy, vengeance and determination showing how these troubles have sparked innovative solutions to heal thousands of patients.
Starting Troubles 1 was made on his Book “Inventing Medical Devices: A Perspective from India” and streamed on Amazon Prime US, Amazon Prime UK, YouTube Channel Buddy bits and Indian OTT platform EPICON. Starring Renuka Shahane, Parikshit Sahani and Kurish Deboo, the first season garnered millions of views and tremendous appreciation for the medical and non-medical community.
