Ahead of the worldwide release of psychological drama web series ‘Rudra – The Edge of Darkness’ tomorrow, Disney + Hotstar unveiled the title track of the hotly anticipated web series. The title track ‘Inaam’ is sung and performed by multi-platinum singer and businesswoman Ananya Birla.
Adding to Ajay Devgn’s power packed performance as ACP Rudra Veer Singh, the nuanced Hindi track perfectly complements the suspense-packed storyline of the psychological drama web series. The intense lyrics, ominous tones and noir-inspired soundscape lend a hauntingly rousing and captivating vibe to the track. The music video is a depiction of Rudra’s ‘hauntings of the past’ with two parallel story lines as we navigate the complex intricacies of Rudra’s mind and that of the artist.
The six-episode thriller series which is helmed by Ajay Devgn and marks his OTT debut is an adaptation of the Idris Elba starrer British series, Luther. The series dives into the ‘psyche of highly intelligent criminals and the detective who hunts them and whos’ personal life is deeply affected because of his professional calling. The series also stars Esha Deol, Raashii Khanna, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tarun Gahlot, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Satyadeep Misra in pivotal roles.
Speaking about her OTT debut Ananya Birla expands, “I’ve been an avid fan of the British series Luther and it was such an incredibly enjoyable experience to collaborate on the Indian adaptation Rudra – The Edge of Darkness. In the title track ‘Inaam’, I have tried to embody the emotions and intensity of Rudra’s mind and I hope the viewers enjoy listening to the track. I am super happy with how the music video has come together. It goes seamlessly with the show and is everything that I had envisioned it to be.”
‘Rudra – The Edge of Darkness’ is directed by directed by Rajesh Mapushkar and is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India. The series will be available on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th March 2022 in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
