Talented music artist Amit Kumar, who has been taking his legendary singer father Kishor Kumar’s legacy forward, will perform at ‘Amit Kumar Live-In Concert’ for a noble cause. The ‘Amit Kumar Live-In Concert’ is being held in association with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) for the 5th year in a row to raise funds to support women with cancer. The concert will be held on October 7th, at 7pm at St Andrews Auditorium, Bandra.
The major highlight of the event would be the introduction of Muktika Ganguly, daughter of Amit Kumar and granddaughter of legendary Kishore Kumar. She will also perform along with her father.
Amit Kumar, a versatile artist known for his singing, music direction, and acting has been associated with the CPAA for this noble cause for the last four years. The audience will witness an array of evergreen Hindi songs presented by Amit Kumar in ‘Amit Kumar Live-In Concert’.
Amit Kumar is known for his melodious and evergreen songs such as Yaad Aa Rahi Hai, Bade Acche Lagte Hai, Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se. Amit Kumar will present the songs sung by him and his father legendary Kishor Kumar along with his brother Sumit Kumar. Some of the Memorable song such as Aati Rahengi Baharen, Babu Samjho Ishare , Yeh Dosti, Jhumroo, Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana he will sing with his brother Sumit Kumar in the concert making it memorable for the audience.
The Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) is a registered charitable organization working towards the cause of cancer patients for the last 54 years. The association assists patients by providing free drugs, food supplements, ambulance services, prosthesis while also helping in investigations, thus working towards the total management of the disease cancer.
Amit Kumar, who is a phenomenal artist, says “I am always ready to support and help social causes, thereby making a difference in society. I am proud to be associated with CPAA and the proceeds of my show will help cancer-afflicted women from the lower economic strata to complete their course of treatment and live life with dignity. I always try to give back where I can and music is a great platform to spread awareness and support social causes,” he added.
Anita Peter, Executive Director, CPAA, points out that breast and cervical cancer are the second-most leading cancers in India. “Considering the expense involved in such treatments, this concert would help create a corpus to support women from lower socio-economic strata in completing their treatment and live life with dignity. Artists like Amit Kumar who are always ready to support social causes are indeed a boon to society.”
Amit Kumar has long been established as an Indian film playback singer, actor, director, and music director. He has been doing live orchestra shows since 1995 and continues to perform worldwide. In addition to singing in Hindi, he has also performed in Bengali, Bhojpuri, Odia, Assamese, Marathi and Konkani.
“For us to be able to create awareness, especially about breast cancer, and to raise funds for the same, we request our citizens to join hands in this endeavor and support us to successfully organize this show,” Ms Peter added.
