Addressing the media, Akshay said that the ghastly act had rekindled the same fiery anger that he experienced while making films about India’s courageous soldiers. “Woh gussa phir se jaga hai (that fury has ignited again),” he said, visibly moved and agitated.

Akshay brought out the pungent irony that, as he was jubilant over the valor of Indian soldiers in Kesari Chapter 2, real-life heroes were under attack in Kashmir. “We film to pay tribute to our soldiers, but when tragedies like these occur in real life, it hits harder. “The loss is personal, it jolts you,” he further added. The actor called for unity against terrorism and to rally behind the martyrs’ families.

Some Bollywood stars, including the crew and cast of Kesari Chapter 2, also displayed their solidarity and grief during the screening ceremony. Silence was observed for the victims of the attack. Akshay Kumar stated that some of the proceeds from the first week of the film would be given to the martyrs’ families.
