15 September – Engineer’s Day (India)
Engineer’s Day is celebrated in India on 15 September every year to mark the tribute to the Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
He was an Indian civil engineer, statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore, serving from 1912 to 1919.
His birthday, 15 September, is celebrated as Engineers’ Day in India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania in his memory. He was the Chief Engineer of Krishna Raja Sagara dam in the north-west suburb of Mysuru city, and also served as one of the Chief Engineers of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad.

According to the vishnu puranam and Shrimad Bhagavatam, Vishwakarma is the son of a Deva called Prabhas, who belongs to the class of the ashta Vasus. He married Rachana, the sister of Virochana, the king of the Daityas.
Vishwakarma, a Hindu god, the divine architect. He is considered as swayambhu and creator of the world. He constructed the holy city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled, the palace of Indraprastha for the Pandavas, and was the creator of many fabulous weapons for the gods.
