Prithvi Raj Chauhan

Prithviraja III (1178-1192) popularly known as Prithviraj Chauhan was a king from the Chahamana (Chauhan) dynasty. He ruled Sapadalaksha, the traditional Chahamana territor.

He also repulsed the early invasions by Muhammad of Ghor, a ruler of the Muslim Ghurid dynasty.
However, in 1192 CE, the Ghurids defeated Prithviraj at the Second battle of Tarain, and executed him shortly after.

After Prithviraj’s death, the Ghurids appointed his son Govindaraja on the throne of Ajmer as their vassal. In 1192 CE, Prithviraj’s younger brother Hariraja dethroned Govindaraja, and recaptured a part of his ancestral kingdom.

Mohammad Ghori tried to invade india 17 times. 16 times he was defeated by Indian kings and was allowed to go back.

Facts Behind Lord Shiva Third Eye

According to Shiva Purana, once, Lord Shiva was sitting fully engaged in meditation. Goddess Parvati, his consort came there and playfully covered both his eyes with her hands. With his divine power, Siva created a third eye in the centre of his forehead. Fire emerged from his third eye and he restored light in the universe

He is also referred as Tryambaka for the third eye, placed on his forehead. It is the eye of wisdom, free from “Maya”, the illusion, and duality of life. It looks beyond the obvious with clear perception, and shows one what is true. Lord Shiva’s third eye is also famous for emitting flames that destroy evil.
