Maharana Sangram Singh Sisodia (12 April 1482 – 30 January 1528) commonly known as Rana Sanga, was an Indian ruler of Mewar and head of a powerful Rajput confederacy in Rajputana during the 16th century.

Rana Sanga succeeded his father, Rana Raimal, as king of Mewar in 1508.

He fought against the Afghan Lodhi dynasty of Delhi Sultanate, and later against the Turkic Mughals of Ferghana.

VEDIK GYAN:

Hindu calendar, dating system used in India from about 1000 bce and still used to establish dates of the Hindu religious year. It is based on a year of 12 lunar months; i.e., 12 full cycles of phases of the Moon.

The traditional Hindu Calendar is composed of 5 basic parts, hence the name, Panchanga, or “one who has five limbs.” These five limbs are Tithi, Var, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana.

The Hindu calendar has a cycle of 60 years and is named from Prabhava to Kshaya. Generally, the new Hindu year begins at the end of April every year. There are 12 months in Hindu lunar Calendar:
