Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay (1838–1894) was a great Indian writer, poet, and nationalist thinker, best known for composing “Vande Mataram”, India’s national song.
(a) Born on 27 June 1838 in Naihati, Bengal
(b) One of the first graduates of Calcutta University
(c) His writings inspired Indian freedom movement. “Vande Mataram” became a powerful symbol of patriotism.
(d) Famous novels include Anandamath, Durgeshnandini, and Kapalkundala
