1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu embarks on three nation tour to Fiji, New Zealand and Timor Leste.

2. Denzil Douglas arrived in New Delhi on the first-ever foreign ministerial visit from the country to India. External Affairs Ministry said this visit will open new chapters of cooperation and further strengthen bilateral ties between India and St Kitts and Nevis.

3. India will host the third Voice of the Global South Summit on 17 August 2024. This virtual event will address major global issues like conflicts, development challenges, and climate change. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the summit.

4. In Surrey, Canada, a Pakistani-Canadian businessman who had participated in protests following the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was set on fire by an unidentified man.

Rahat Rao was set on fire by a man in his mid-20s on Friday. He was hospitalized and is in critical condition.

5. India advises its nationals not to travel to Bangladesh after fresh violence. External Ministry also advised all nationals of India presently residing in Bangladesh to exercise “extreme caution” and restrict their movements in the wake of fresh waves of violence in the neighbouring country.

1. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ordered Iran to strike Israel directly, in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

2. Just a day after terror group, Hamas’ chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran, Israel has announced that the group’s miliitary chief. Mohammed Deif, was killed in an in Israeli strike in July in Gaza.

3. Turkey issues open threat to invade Israel over war in Gaza : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan escalated tensions with Israel on Sunday, suggesting the possibility of military action against the Jewish state amid ongoing conflict with the Iranian proxy group Hezbollah.

4. In Sudan, at least 23 people have been killed and 60 injured in an artillery attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

5. As South Korea sizzles under a heatwave, nearly 400 people have been treated at hospital emergency rooms for heat-related diseases last week.

6. In Bangladesh, 55 people, including 13 policemen killed in fresh clashes over demand for resignation of government. Mobile internet has been shut down again on Sunday, on the instructions of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). 7. Turkey blocked access to Instagram for its 85 million people, the country’s Information and Communication Technologies Authority announced on 2 August. The Turkish government did not disclose a reason for the ban nor how long it would be in place,
