There are 117 athletes from India who made it for the Paris Olympics but the actual numbers on view in the boat will be very less. It is learnt the boat will accommodate only around 65 to 70 alongside the Seine River tonight.

The size of the boat which will feature nations from the world over include Greece, first, the Refugees under an Olympic flag and other nations. India will be lower down the order, but who all are in the boat will be interesting to see. PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal are the flag bearers. Chef de mission is Gagan Narang and there will be other athletes.

While the numbers will be less, 21 shooters will be away at the shooting ranges, which is 275km away. On Friday, high speed trains were hit by vandalism. It affected the Indian sailors as Vishnu Saravan and Nethra Kumanan were to come for the opening ceremony.

No details are available further on the opening ceremony, but boats sailing along in rain will be nice to watch. On Friday, the weather was overcast and there is high humidity.

This is likely to be the lowest number of athletes to be part of the opening ceremony at a Summer Olympics, from India. It is also estimated that size of other nations like USA and China will also be hit as the boats along the river cannot be large in size.

Once the opening ceremony begins, the real details will emerge.
