After 41 years , Indian Hockey Shines at Olympics

Indian Hockey Team beat Germany by 5-4 , in Bronze Medal Match here , played at Tokyo, Today Morning.

This is India’s Olympic medal in hockey after 41 years, India hockey team last won the gold medal in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

Germany with its 1st Goal of Timur Oruz , just in 2nd min of game, leads & started creating pressure on Indian men . Throughout 1st Quarter, Germans disturbed Indian defence but didn’t find other chance
In 2nd quarter, Simranjeet Singh scored from a well-executed shot but some defensive errors provided chance to Germans to score 2 more goals just within 2 minutes.
But the Indians rebound fast with 2 Goals back to back of Hardik Singh , scored first & Harmanpreet Singh stuck the 2nd one with a superb drag flick onto the back of the nets ,

Indians level the scores at 3-3 by halftime.

In 3rd quarter Rupinder Pal Singh’s goal , converted from a penalty stroke & Minutes later, Simranjeet Singh direct struck into the net , a Goal , extend India’s lead.
In 3rd quarter, Indians lead the match with 5-3 , seems total in favour .

In the final, the 4th quarter , Lukas Windfeder (Germany ) scored one more goal from a penalty corner, & Germany received a penalty corner in the dying seconds of the match, but India goalkeeper PR Sreejesh made a fantastic save to deny Windfeder.
Germany team was not able even to push the game to the shootouts.

This time Indian Men Hockey Team scripted history in Tokyo by Defeating the World Champion, Bronze Medallist of Rio Olympics 2016, Germany by 5-4 & won any medal at Olympics after 41 years.

With Hockey teams Bronze , 4th medal is added in Indian Tally.
