“If you’re dreaming, dream big…” says Karan Aujla, and his ever-growing global fanbase and critically acclaimed discography is a testament to that statement.

Born and raised in the village of Ghurala in Northern Punjab, India., Aujla discovered Punjabi folk music, after his parent’s untimely death. Now based in Vancouver, B.C. since 2014, the 27-year-old artist turned tragedy into triumph and began his career writing for prominent names in the Punjabi music scene including Jassi Gill.

Aujla’s debut studio album, BacTHAfuKUP (B.T.F.U.), released in 2021, achieved remarkable success with over a hundred million streams and reaching #6 on Spotify’s Global Chart. He further solidified his stature as a global ambassador of Punjabi heritage and culture, ranking #38 on the Global Digital Artist Ranking.

Aujla’s second studio album ‘Making Memories’ executive produced by Ikky made waves in 2023 by debuting at #5 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, marking the highest-charting debut for a Punjabi album in Canadian history. The 9-track album was a collection of refreshing, summary tracks that maintained a consistent ‘contemporary punjabi-pop’ soundscape combining Punjabi-folk music sensibilities with more accessible western new-age sounds. It garnered 7.5 million streams in Canada and over 24 million globally in its first week, with every track charting in the Top 200 in both India and Canada. Released via Warner Music Canada, ‘Making Memories’ not only topped Billboard but also reached #3 on Spotify’s Global Top Albums and claimed #1 on Apple Music charts in India and Canada, with over 1 billion streams and a spot on the Global Digital Artist List at #38.

In the same year, Aujla and Ikky made it to YouTube Canada’s most popular music videos of 2023 list with ‘52 Bars’ and ‘Take It Easy’ from their ‘Four You’ EP achieving the #3 and the #8 spots respectively.

His follow-up release ‘Street Dreams’ in 2024, a collaborative project featuring DIVINE and released via Mass Appeal, secured Top 20s in over 20 countries and debuted at #22 on Billboard Canada and dominated YouTube’s Trending Charts.

In 2024, Aujla made global history as he became the first-ever Punjabi artist to take home the fan-voted TikTok JUNO Fan Choice Award, an accolade he now shares with Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber and Avril Lavigne.

In the same year, he marked his debut innings in Bollywood with Bad Newz lending his vocals for Tauba Tauba that became the first ever Bollywood film song to top the Spotify Global Charts and hit the #8 spot

Dubbed as one of ‘India’s fastest rising prominent Punjabi artists’ , Aujla’s online presence is equally impressive, nearing 3 billion views on YouTube, over one billion audio streams worldwide, and maintaining 17 million monthly Spotify listeners alongside a growing base of 8 million social media followers.
