Separation, split and break-up of family is painful. So, when Hardik Pandya shared on Thursday news of his separation with Natasa Stankovic, it became an emotional thing for everyone. For months, people knew, Hardik and his partner were not getting along.
Social media is known to feast on gossip, even though family matters are personal. In the case of Hardik Pandya, he had shot into the limelight after the Indian team won the ICC T20 World Cup in West Indies last month. Even on return to Mumbai, Hardik was pensive, though he had been meeting close friends. The list included Ishan Kishan.
But the big news was on Thursday when Hardik and Natasha issued a joint statement on their splitting. They will, however, parent their child Agastya together. Anyone who has seen children suffer in marital discord will vouch, Agastya will need both mom and dad. Hardik has promised to do his best, and he will.
After all, a three-year-old knows nothing about how and why his parents do not live together. These are perils of modern-day society and both Hardik and Natasha have made big news. Both Hardik and Natasha mentioned that it was a “tough decision” for both of them.
However, soon after the separation was announced, a large number of Hardik Pandya’s fans trolled Natasa. Even though the model had the comments section of her announcement post switched off, netizens took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to question their decision. Some even dropped hate comments on Natasa’s other Instagram posts.
Back to Hardik the cricketer, he is going through many lows. After performing with the bat and ball in the World Cup, on Thursday he realised the BCCI was stripping him of all leadership. Contrary to perception, Pandya did not get the captaincy role and it has been handed over to Suryakukmar Yadav till the 2026 T20 World Cup, in T20 format. Hardik would be sad to lose the chance to captain India, but given his state of mind, it is better he is there just a player.
As for social media, it is best Hardik and Natasa lead their own lives and find peace. What will still bind them is their son, a young boy.
