1. PM Modi interacted with eminent economists at NITI Aayog in New Delhi yesterday to elicit their views and suggestions ahead of the Union Budget 2024-25.

3. Chardham Yatra pilgrims can now create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account, ABHA on the eSwasthya Dham portal. The Uttarakhand Government’s Department of Health and Family Welfare has launched the portal called eSwasthya Dham. The portal helps in monitoring the Char Dham Yatra pilgrim’s health parameters. It ensures the smooth journey of pilgrims visiting Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath-together called as the Char Dham Yatra.

4. Union Health Minister, Jagat Prakash Nadda chaired a virtual discussion in New Delhi yesterday on issues of Family Planning and Population Control with States and Union Territories on the occasion of World Population Day. The theme of the event was “Healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies for the well-being of mother and child”.

5. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured that farmers of Bihar will not face any problems at the central level. Mr. Chouhan gave the assurance while meeting with a delegation from Bihar led by the state’s Agriculture Minister, Mangal Pande.

11. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that proficiency in the local language is now mandatory for government job selection, ensuring local rights and interests. This follows controversy over a notification exempting permanent resident certificates for certain college positions. Sarma also highlighted the success of the Pragyan Bharti scheme, benefiting nearly one lakh students with free education.

12. Karnataka Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil on 10 July said that Bengaluru’s proposed second international airport will have an annual passenger capacity of 100 million.

13. BSNL’s 13-month plan is available at a price tag of Rs 2,399- which means, it is charging Rs 200 per month for the services. This prepaid plan will be valid for 395 days of validity . Users will benefit from 2GB of high-speed data daily.

14. In Telangana, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA from Rajendranagar T Prakash Goud will join the Congress party on Friday, 12 July.

15. In Uttarakhand, the Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli district is blocked for road traffic for the third consecutive day today due to a landslide near Joshimath (Jyotirmath.).

16. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall over Northeast India during next two days. Very heavy rainfall is also likely over Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka till Monday.

1. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud inaugurated a new filing counter and a multi facilitation centre within the main campus of the Supreme Court in New Delhi.

2. The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of NEET-UG 2024 case to the 18th of this month. A bench led by Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud granted the adjournment to enable parties to file their responses to the affidavits filed by the Centre and the National Testing Agency.

3. Amid the ongoing controversy over ‘misuse of power’ by 2022 batch probationary Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Puja Khedkar, the central government has formed a one-member committee to look into the matter.

According to sources, the committee will probe allegations related to her fake certificates and scrutiny at the time of the interview. Additionally, her conduct during probation will also be examined by the IAS Academy.

4. The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) on Thursday asked Karnataka to ensure flow of one tmc ft (11,500 cusecs) of water at Biligundlu every day till July 31 to supply water for Tamil Nadu. Karnataka had cited deficit water flow and urged the committee to defer any decision till July 25.

5. Karnataka BJP chief and MLA BY Vijayendra on Wednesday said that the BJP would hold a “massive protest” in Mysore on July 12 regarding the mismanagement of the Mysore Development Authority (MUDA).

6. The Supreme Court on Thursday deferred hearing on the petitions seeking scrapping of NEET-UG 2024 for alleged paper leak and other malpractices to 18 July.

7. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body comprising 40 farmer unions from across India, has announced the relaunch of its farmers’ agitation to press for their long-pending demands.

8. The Punjab government on Thursday reinstated IPS officer Paramraj Singh Umranangal, who was suspended five years ago after being named an accused in cases of police firing on people protesting over alleged desecration of Guru Granth Sahib in 2015.

1. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said, the government intends to increase country’s exploration acreage to one million square kilometre by 2030 under exploration and production activities.

He said, the open acreage licensing policy has increased the exploration and production growth. The Union Minister was addressing a gathering during an event – ‘Urja Varta’ organised by Directorate General of Hydrocarbon at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

2. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has made a significant move in the Indian investment landscape by launching the ICICI Prudential Nifty Oil & Gas ETF.

3. Four public sector banks, including Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of India, and EXIM Bank, have collectively paid a dividend of ₹6,481 crore to the government for the financial year 2023-24. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman received dividend cheques from each bank’s managing directors and CEOs.

1. Director General, CISF, Nina Singh said the Home Ministry has taken a big step in recruiting Ex Agniveers in Central Armed Police Forces. Talking to the media, she said CISF has also made all arrangements in this regard.

2. Uttar Pradesh, army has been called in for help in rescue and relief operation as 633 villages of 12 districts are reeling under the flood fury. 5. An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent landed at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin, Australia to participate in the biennial, multinational exercise Pitch Black. The exercise which focuses on night time flying will take place from 12th July to 2nd August.

6. The Uttar Pradesh government has secured over 154 defence manufacturing deals worth Rs 25,000 crore, marking a significant stride in bolstering India’s defence production capabilities. These initiatives are part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), spanning Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, and Agra districts.
